Bulls
Head, Eyam, Derbyshire.
The plague village of Eyam is a fascinating place
to visit, and the Bulls Head is a great place to convene
prior to your exploration. In the 1600's the villagers
of Eyam closed themselves off from the outside world
in an attempt to limit the spread of the Great Plague,
a tremendous sacrifice that should never be forgotten.
Volunteer,
Hyde Park, London.
A few doors down from Sherlock Holmes' house and across
the street from the expansive Hyde Park, is the Volunteer,
a large, busy London pub offering food and a reasonable
selection of beer. A good break from the hectic pace
of sightseeing around London.
Bell
Inn, Willersley, Gloucestershire.
A gorgeous-looking 17th Century pub in the scenic Cotswolds
of South-west England. The pub overlooks the village
pond, complete with ducks and geese, and Sawpit Green.
The pub was originally called the Blue Bell Inn way
back in the mists of time.
Buck
Inn, Buckden, North Yorkshire.
A lovely location for a splendid pub. Use it as your
base for walking in the Dales, and remember to climb
up Buckden Pike and check out the war memorial, built
be a Polish airman who crashed on the Pike during
the Second World War. Try a triangular walk taking
in the George and the
White Lion. More pictures:

Crown,
Askrigg, North Yorkshire:
The Crown is a wonderful working pub, pleasantly worn
and very friendly indeed. Beer is excellent and the
food great value. Remember to also visit the Kings Arms,
back towards town.
New
Inn, Farmborough, Somerset.
A grand old building, out on its own in the Somerset
countryside. Steaks are now an important part of their
business, so when you go, plan on eating in grand style!
Farmers
Arms, Lower Apperly, Gloucestershire.
An interesting old pub, with a tiny little sporadic
brewery (Mayhem's) out in the parking lot, and overstuffed
sofas to relax on in the bar. A welcoming atmosphere
and a good selection of beers. Some colorful families
live nearby!
Crown
Inn, Goldsithney, Cornwall.
There are two pubs in Goldsithney competing for your
business, and the prettier one is certainly the Crown.
By all means, go ahead and compare the Crown with
the Trevelyan, as they
are both eager to impress.
Hop
Blossom, Farnham, Surrey.
We discovered this pub because we believe every town
in England is worthy of at least a little exploration.
The Hop Blossom is a great little town pub, full of
regulars. You can get good traditional pub food here,
basic but reliable.
Garricks
Head, Bath, Somerset.
Garrick was a famous actor in London and Bath many years
ago, which explains why this pub is part of the same
building that houses the much-respected Theatre Royal.
Much of the decor is geared towards the theatre crowd.
