Sun
Inn, Nether Heyford, Northamptonshire.
Golden hues and Elizabethan windows make this pub
quite striking. Eclectic wall hangings and bric-a-brac
festoon this fine establishment. The village boasts
one of the largest greens in England, which can be
seen if you go to the map, then click on the aerial
photograph.
The
Bear, Oxford, Oxfordshire.
Surely one of the smallest pubs in our inventory. Built
over a bear pit in the 13th century, this pub has one
of the largest tie collections in England (really!)
Black
Horse, Marylebone, London.
A great town pub, friendly staff, and lovely Victorian
fixtures, all in the heart of London. Although close
to the London shops, this pub was full of locals. One
of our little discoveries.
Fox
& Hounds, Great Brington, Northamptonshire.
Over a dozen real ales in this old, rambling pub, in
the village of Diana Spencer, Princess of Wales. Worn
wood floors, bric-a-brac from the locality festooning
the walls, this pub has character to spare. It used
to be a Flagship Pub until they changed the name to
'The Althorp Coaching Inn'.
Cross
Keys, Bath, Somerset.
On the hills on the south side of Bath, the Cross Keys
is a definitive town pub. Remember to check out the
stone block out front, once used for mounting horses.
It is also on the way to the Packhorse,
one of our Flagship Pubs.
Eastcote
Arms, Eastcote, Northamptonshire.
Tucked away in the picturesque country lanes of Northamptonshire,
the Eastcote Arms is a true village pub, unspoilt and
full of regulars.
Blue
Bell, Kettlewell, North Yorkshire.
Kettlewell has three fine pubs, and the Blue Bell
boasts the biggest fireplace. Very popular with walkers,
and the scenery in Wharfedale is spectacular.

George,
Kilsby, Northamptonshire.
Once on a main road, now on a backwater street, the
George doubles as a hotel. A busy, velvet-upholstered
bar, with a distinctly hotel-like feel to it. The
seats in the bar all face each other, in a ring around
the room, which makes for back & forth conversation
when everyone knows everyone else.
Watermans
Arms, Eton, Berkshire.
In amongst a rich vein of pubs in Eton and across the
bridge in Windsor, the Watermans should be one of several
you should visit. Lovely location next to the boathouse.
Saracens
Head, Little Brington, Northamptonshire.
Make the connection between the Fox & Hounds and
this pub by walking across the fields from Great Brington,
a very pleasant little walk. This pretty little pub
has a tree growing out of its foundations. Scene of
the fraças that changed Adopt-a-Pub forever!
