Adopt-a-Pub is but a shrine to the Great British Drinking
Institution we affectionately call the 'Pub'. Every
pub on every page of this website has been personally
visited & experienced by the Adopt-a-Pub crew. It
is not a catalog, we do not rate the pubs on a sliding
scale, nor list whether they allow dogs (although they
all should). It is not a monolithic definitive tome
on whether a pub is good or bad, as a pub can change
from one visit to the next, but rather it is a snapshot
in time, our own personal experiences of this super
little invention. We hope you enjoy sharing them with
us.

Putting together an inventory of over two hundred
pubs requires more than patience and planning... it
requires a philosophy. The 'Philosophy' button will
lead you to enlightenment, what our philosophy of English
pubs is all about.
In the course of putting this website together
I drew on some resources I found on the web. Several
people kindly let me use some of their materials, just
because they are nice people, not because there is any
